Blind Monarch – What Is Imposed Must Be Endured

When this the year of Doom Metal bands, I really mean it. I lost track of how many doomy bands I have review since the beginning of the year. In fact, we’ve been receiving all kinds of doomy bands, Blind Monarch with “What Is Imposed Must Be Endured” are a good example of a funeral doom with dashes of black/death features because of the grunting and harsh vocals. “What Is Imposed Must Be Endured” is a monolithic album with long four tracks as their peers love to do. Blind Monarch are a band with deep roots on what they intend to do.

My readers know that I never say a thing about names of the bands and of the albums. No, never. But I have to say that I loved the album tittle “What Is Imposed Must Be Endured” means a lot if we go deep down inside its meaning. An album tittle generally says a lot about the band and the music they’re playing. At times, one can even guess what kind of music you’re going to get only by the tittle. However, I don’t consider this a bad thing at all. It gives support. It’s something going to a place that you already know. No regrets. That’s what happens with “What Is Imposed Must Be Endured.” What you pay is what you get. A honest and monolithic Funeral Doom with sludge guitars and an insane vocal.

“What Is Imposed Must Be Endured” isn’t for newcomers. Blind Monarch are a band for aficionados who appreciate a good piece of Doom with strong guitar riffs and drum fillings. Blind Monarch were very successful in  creating a doomy atmosphere with a dark and dense climate. “Living Altar” shows this best with its creepy choirs that give you the creeps and create a malevolent atmosphere.

“What Is Imposed Must Be Endured” Blind Monarch will be released on April 05th via Black Bow Records.
