Kevin Blake Goodwin Launches Fundraising Campaign For Album and Short Film

Technical Progressive Metal guitarist Kevin Blake Goodwin is set to release a new album and short film this year. Dissonance is a project Goodwin has spent 2 1/2 years on and hopes to spread a positive message with the music and film. The short film that accompanies the album focuses on drug addiction and the horrors that come with it.

Goodwin hopes his album and short film can have a greater impact than just the songs. He comments “With so many musicians suffering from drug addiction… it felt very necessary to address the problem the best way I knew how…through my music.

The short film follows a drug addict from the early stages to the toughest times of the disease to the final stages with hope and survival. The film also includes information for drug addicts to seek help. Goodwin will screen the film when he plays the Dissonance album in concert to ensure more exposure. The film will be free with a purchase of the Dissonance album.

Kevin Blake Goodwin is a well-established act in the art of fingerstyle guitar playing. He won the 2015 Canadian Fingerstyle Guitar Competition and later founded FretMonkey Records, a label catered exclusively to fingerstyle guitarists.

However, the project is not yet completed and Goodwin is seeking donations to help out. Pledges start at $1 and for $500 you can receive an Executive Producer credit on the album.
