Andy Anderson, former drummer of THE CURE, has passed away at 68, after losing the battle to terminal cancer.
Anderson passed away following a battle with terminal cancer, a prognosis that he publicly revealed in a Facebook post earlier this month.
Keyboardist Lol Tolhurst confirmed that the musician died at home surrounded by loved ones just before 6pm last night.
He said: “Andy Anderson was a true gentleman and a great musician with a wicked sense of humor which he kept until the end, a testament to his beautiful spirit on the last journey.”
Anderson joined THE CURE in 1983 when Tolhurst swapped from the sticks to keyboards after the 1982 album P**nography.
