SKELETAL REMAINS vocalist and guitarist Chris Monroy has reportedly been banned from future sailings of the 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise following allegations of inappropriate behavior during last week’s event.
The annual festival — widely billed as the world’s largest heavy metal cruise — took place just days ago, but discussion surrounding Monroy’s alleged conduct quickly spread across social media platforms, including Reddit and Facebook.
One widely shared Reddit post stated: “Chris Monroy, vocalist and guitarist for the death metal band SKELETAL REMAINS, has reportedly been banned from future appearances on the 70000 Tons of Metal cruise following allegations of inappropriate behavior toward multiple women during the recent festival.
“According to posts from attendees on social media, Monroy was frequently intoxicated during the cruise and allegedly groped women without their consent throughout the festival.
“Social media posts discussing the incident suggest that event organizers reprimanded Monroy for the remainder of the festival, restricted his activities, and reportedly confined him to his room.
“No official statement has yet been released by 70000 Tons of Metal promoters, SKELETAL REMAINS‘ management, or Monroy himself.”
Another widely circulated account summarized the situation as follows: Last week was 70,000 Tons of Metal, the world’s largest heavy metal cruise.
“SKELETAL REMAINS frontman and guitarist Chris Monroy was drunkenly groping women during the entire trip. There are multiple witnesses, multiple victims, and he’s been banned from future 70K sailings.”
As of press time, neither 70000 Tons Of Metal promoters, SKELETAL REMAINS’ management, nor Monroy himself have issued an official statement addressing the allegations.
