AC/DC Concert Ticket Prices Spark Backlash Among South American Fans

AC/DC Prague 2025

Legendary rockers AC/DC are finally returning to South America, marking their first performances in Brazil since 2009. The band will kick off their South American leg on February 24, 2026, in São Paulo at the iconic Cícero Pompeu de Toledo Stadium (Morumbi).

Tickets for the São Paulo show were released on November 5, with prices ranging from $85 to $320 (R$425 to R$1,590). Online sales are handled via Ticketmaster Brazil.

The pricing has already sparked a wave of criticism among fans on social media. On Ticketmaster Brazil’s Instagram post, several followers expressed their dissatisfaction. One fan wrote (via Whiplash): “What madness is this for the AC/DC show? Seriously, these absurd prices are out of the question. Even for an AC/DC show, this has gone beyond all limits. It’s been way over the top for a long time!”

Another fan added, “They’re charging premium prices for the general admission area. They should have split the seating vertically or charged less for those watching from the back, not including fees. What a rip-off.”

Some fans expressed sheer disbelief at the costs. “I almost fell over when I saw the AC/DC prices,” one wrote, while another commented, “Remove the ticket fees for AC/DC concerts, they’re completely useless.” A final frustrated fan simply asked, “AEB runway, same price??? Seriously?”

The AC/DC Power Up Tour kicks off in São Paulo before heading to Chile, Argentina, and Mexico, followed by a 17-date North American leg beginning on July 11 in Charlotte, North Carolina, and concluding September 29 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The tour continues to showcase tracks from AC/DC’s most recent album, Power Up, featuring the lineup that electrified audiences across the U.S. and Canada in 2025: Angus Young (lead guitar), Brian Johnson (vocals), Stevie Young (rhythm guitar), Chris Chaney (bass), and Matt Laug (drums).

Before touring North America, AC/DC will also complete a nine-date Australian run, starting November 12 in Melbourne and ending December 18 in Brisbane.
