AC/DC Tops Latest BILLBOARD’s ‘Hot Tours’ Chart

AC/DC: 2016 U.S. Tour Dates Announced

According to Billboard, AC/DC has topped the latest tally of Hot Tours, based on box-office sales from three Midwestern U.S. arenas on the legendary rock band’s Rock or Bust world tour.

AC/DC‘s three Midwestern U.S. arena shows in Fargo, North Dakota; St. Paul, Minnesota; and Chicago, Illinois were seen by 47,939 fans, generating $5.7 million in box office revenue and placing the trek at No. 1 on the weekly “Hot Tours” list of top-grossing tours.

The February 11 concert in Fargo was the best-attended show of the three, with 19,308 tickets sold, while the February 17 performance at Chicago’s United Center was seen by only 13,773 fans. It should be noted, however, that the veteran rockers also played Chicago last fall when a sellout crowd of 29,732 packed the city’s Wrigley Field.

AC/DC’s latest album, Rock or Bust, peaked at #1 in 12 countries, including Australia, Canada, Germany and Sweden. It reached the top 5 in a further 12 countries, including New Zealand, the United Kingdom, the United States and Italy.
