Ace Frehley, the legendary former guitarist of KISS, has announced the cancellation of two upcoming concerts due to illness.
In a statement shared on social media yesterday (Wednesday, May 21), Frehley informed fans that he will not be able to perform this weekend, citing health reasons. The affected dates include a performance at Brat Fest in Madison, Wisconsin on Friday, May 23, and a show at the Arcada Theater in St. Charles, Illinois on Saturday, May 24.
“Hello everyone, I wanted to let you all know that I will sadly be unable to perform this weekend… Although not serious, I am ill and don’t feel that I am capable of the rigorous travel or performing up to my usual standards this weekend,” Frehley wrote.
He continued, “I extend my deepest regrets and most sincere apologies for having to cancel. I thank you all for your understanding in the matter. All love to my fans, Ace.”
While the illness is not considered serious, Frehley made it clear that his decision was based on a commitment to delivering the kind of performance fans expect from him. At this time, no rescheduled dates have been announced.
Frehley has been active on the road in support of his recent album, 10,000 Volts.
