AFTERSHOCK Call Out To ‘Resist’

Hailing from Wembley in London, Aftershock can be described as groove driven Heavy Metal that incorporates elements of Funk and Classic Rock with 80’s style lead guitar and powerful, screaming vocals.

In 2019, James O’Connor (guitar), Manuel Ramos Paton (guitar) and Lewis Henderson (drums) began searching for musicians to form a new band with a heavy sound. They found frontman Mordigan Ritter and bassist Sam Farnon. This completed the formula for the sound of Aftershock.

The demographic of the band hail from different countries. James and Lewis, are both native to the UK whilst Manuel comes from Spain, Mordigan from Romania and Sam from Ireland. As a result this melting pot of both cultural and musical influences has helped to create a diverse sound that is commercially accessible and remains unique and true to every member of Aftershock’s own personal stylistic influences from bands such as Extreme, Steelheart, Skid Row and Thin Lizzy to Audioslave, Alice in Chains and Pantera.

2020 saw Aftershock ready to record and release their debut EP “Resist.” They recorded the title track at Rogue Recording Studios with Alessio Garavello (vocalist for A New Tomorrow, and formerly of Arthemis), whose notable engineering works include David Ellefson. They then travelled to Foel Studios in Wales to record the rest of the EP with Chris Fielding of Doom Metal band CONAN just before the COVID-19 UK lockdown. The atmosphere and ambience of the Welsh countryside was captured in the energy and invigoration of “Resist.”

Achieving radio play in Europe, such as the UK and Germany, to the USA, “Resist” (released 10th July 2020) is set to be the first major step in Aftershock’s journey.
