SLAUGHTER TO PREVAIL frontman Alex Terrible has publicly addressed the wave of backlash directed at DYING FETUS and SUICIDE SILENCE for joining his band on their upcoming European/UK headlining tour scheduled for early 2026.
The controversy stems not from the music, but from the cloud of criticism that has long followed Terrible himself. The Russian vocalist, born Aleksandr Shikolai, has faced ongoing scrutiny over his past associations with fascist imagery—most notably a black sun tattoo, a symbol often linked to Nazi ideology—and comments that have been widely labeled as homophobic and transphobic. In a December 2023 video, Terrible attempted to set the record straight, denying any current affiliation with far-right beliefs and claiming that some of his earlier statements were intended as jokes, albeit ones that didn’t land well.
Despite that effort, Terrible remains a lightning rod for controversy—and now, bands that choose to tour with SLAUGHTER TO PREVAIL are finding themselves in the crossfire. Since the announcement of the 2026 tour, DYING FETUS, SUICIDE SILENCE, and ANNOTATIONS OF AN AUTOPSY have all received a surge of criticism across their social media platforms, with many fans accusing them of overlooking or excusing Terrible’s past.
Terrible finally broke his silence on the matter earlier today (June 5th), taking to Instagram to express frustration with the backlash, especially given how meaningful this tour lineup is for him personally:
“I went to @suicidesilence and @dyingfetusofficial pages and read all hate comments from people. They mad about our own headline tour
“Listen I grew up with suicide silence music and never imagined they will open for my band. To be honest I still don’t know how to react for this and for me personally I prefer touring without any support bands. Just us and we did it a lot of times already and sell out big Venues wich is very very good. But people always complained it was just us and they want more. Well our team worked it out and asked sick bands to tour with us and now people complain this band touring with us coz of US in our own tour WHAT THE FFFFFF”
