Imagine this amp bigger, but bigger. Ampeg is set to commemorate its 50th anniversary with a special event on January 26 at the Anaheim Marriott in California. The doors open at 2 PM.
Marking the occasion, the company had built an 11-foot (3.35m) amp for Spinal Tap bassist Derek Smalls.
Ampeg writes:
“Come witness this once-in-a-lifetime event where Derek Smalls plays the legendary 11′ tall (yes, that’s 11-feet tall… this amp truly goes to 11), behemoth, custom-built Ampeg SVT bass amplifier. Derek Smalls will also be promoting his new album and taking audience questions.”
I’m just a lucky guy who has chosen metal to live with for a long time. Metal changed my life for good. It made me more confident and stronger. Metalheads are naturally far away from the mass mediocrity and don’t accept impostures from anybody else. Metal is more than music, it’s a life changing oportunity!
