As I Lay Dying Frontman Pleads Guilty in Murder for Hire Plot

There were rumors that a plea bargain was on the way in the Tim Lambesis trial, and turns out the rumors are true.

According to NBC San Diego, Lambesis entered a change of plea and admitted to attempting to hire a hitman to murder his wife. He will be charged with one count of  solicitation of another to commit murder and conspiracy to commit a crime, a felony! According to a court clerk, Lambesis will reportedly serve  serve the maximum 9 years in prison.

Update: Lambgoat is reporting that Lambesis might serve less than 9 years. Nine years and a $10,000 penalty is the maximum sentence. The final decision will be made by  Judge Carlos Armour on May 2nd during his sentencing hearing. Lambgoat also reported that the parents and brother of Lambesis’ estranged wife, Meggan, were present and according to the prosector “obviously relieved.”

Last week, detailed accounts of court transcripts surfaced and it looked like the prosecution had a solid case against Lambesis.

Lambesis was was arrested on May 7th, 2013 for attempting to hire a hitman to murder his wife. The supposed hitman ended up being an undercover cop.  Lambesis, who pleaded not guilty, is currently out on $2 million bond after paying $160,000 to a bail bondsman. Lambesis has been on house arrest since release, with few exceptions
