AVENGED SEVENFOLD guitarist Zacky Vengeance sparked controversy this week with a now-deleted tweet targeting the FOO FIGHTERS. According to Rock Celebrities, the post read: “And while I’m at it. F**k anyone who likes the FOO FIGHTERS.”
Fans quickly noticed the message before it was removed, and discussions erupted online as to what might have prompted the guitarist’s outburst. On Reddit, theories ranged from personal grievances to music-related controversies. One AVENGED SEVENFOLD fan suggested the tweet was “referring to Dave [Grohl, FOO FIGHTERS frontman] cheating on his wife and fathering a child outside of his marriage.” Another speculated that it could be connected to recent developments surrounding NIRVANA frontman Kurt Cobain, stating: “I don’t think this is in regards to Dave Grohl’s infidelity. It’s likely in regards to the new investigation that revealed Kurt Cobain might have been murdered.”
Indeed, the debate over Kurt Cobain’s death has resurfaced after more than 30 years. Veteran forensic scientist Bryan Burnett, 80, along with the investigative group Who Killed Kurt, led by Michelle Wilkins, submitted a report claiming that Cobain’s death may have been staged. According to their findings, Cobain was allegedly assaulted and forced into a h*roin overdose before being shot in the head, with the scene then arranged to appear as a suicide. Wilkins explained: “The autopsy points to several factors that may make someone think, ‘Well, wait, this person didn’t die very quickly of a gunshot blast.’”
She added: “To me, it looks like someone staged a movie and wanted you to be absolutely certain this was a suicide. The receipt for the gun is in his pocket. The receipt for the shells is in his pocket. The shells are lined up at his feet. We’re supposed to believe he capped the needles and put everything back in order after shooting up three times, because that’s what someone does while they’re dying. Suicides are messy, and this was a very clean scene.”
The report also raises questions about bloodstain patterns, body positioning, and Cobain’s morphine levels, suggesting it would have been extremely difficult for him to inject himself, handle a shotgun, and fire it without assistance. Despite these claims, Seattle authorities continue to stand by their original ruling of suicide. A spokesperson for the King County Medical Examiner’s Office told the Daily Mail: “King County Medical Examiner’s Office worked with the local law enforcement agency, conducted a full autopsy and followed all of its procedures in coming to the determination of the manner of death as a suicide.”
Seattle police have similarly confirmed that the investigation remains closed.
Zacky Vengeance has not commented further on his tweet, leaving fans to speculate on whether his statement was inspired by recent Cobain developments, personal grievances with the FOO FIGHTERS, or something else entirely.
