BASTARDANE has returned with a brand new single, “Mother’s Tongue,” marking the group’s latest release since 2024’s Catatonic Symphony.
The track arrives with an impressive production team behind it. “Mother’s Tongue” was produced by Joseph Duplantier of GOJIRA and recorded by Dan Joeright at Gatos Trail Recording Studio in Yucca Valley, California. Mixing duties were handled by Jamie Uertz at Duplantier’s Silver Cord Studio, while mastering was completed by Gavin Lurssen at Lurssen Mastering.
Sharing the news on social media, the band wrote: “BOOM! ‘Mother’s Tongue’ — our new single is out for your listening pleasure RIGHT NOW.”
BASTARDANE features drummer and vocalist Castor Hetfield — the son of James Hetfield of METALLICA — alongside Luca Badan on bass and vocals, and Ethan Sirotzki on guitar. Since parting ways with singer Jake Dallas Benn in 2024, Badan and Hetfield have stepped up to handle vocal duties within the band.
Formed in Savannah, Georgia, BASTARDANE has steadily carved out its own path in the heavy music scene. The trio previously released Is This Rage? in 2022, followed by Catatonic Symphony in 2024, both showcasing the band’s sludgy, groove-driven sound and raw intensity.
