In a new interview with Ultimate-GuitarBEHEMOTH frontman Adam “Nergal” Darski discussed the current state of music, sharing his opinion on such popular acts as Billie Eilish and GRETA VAN FLEET.

When asked how does he look the genre of rock and metal today, Nergal responded: “Honestly, I don’t know man. I can respect what Billie Eilish does. There are newcoming bands that seem to be exciting, like GRETA VAN FLEET. They’re one of those artists that should grow big. And why not? Even though they confront a lot of ripoff accusations and sh*t. But I’m, like, ‘Seriously?’

“I mean, we all like stealing from each other. Just f*ckin’ relax people,” he continued. “It’s cool to see teenagers just growing that big and just being talented. I really dig that.

“So I don’t know man. I don’t know… On one hand, it seems like things are changing drastically for the business, for the streaming platforms, because physical record sales are dropping down, blah-blah-blah, blah-blah-blah… We can go on forever. But I’m more of an optimist. And I’m like rock music will find its way how to get to people.

“And if… let’s say, the record sales are just going down, on the other hand, the ticket sales for shows are growing bigger and bigger for all the artists,” Nergal added. “For us they’re growing bigger, for [IRON] MAIDEN it’s been the biggest gross ever. For GUNS N’ ROSES – the biggest gross ever. For RAMMSTEIN – the biggest gross ever. So I don’t think it’s that bad as some people try to present that.”
