BLACK LABEL SOCIETY is back, and this time, the spotlight is on Ozzy Osbourne. Their 12th studio album, Engines of Demolition, arrives on March 27, featuring a special nod to Wylde’s longtime collaborator in the form of “Ozzy’s Song.”
The track stands out as a heartfelt tribute from Zakk Wylde, who toured and recorded with the Prince of Darkness for decades. Wylde shared with NJ.com how performing with Ozzy one last time in July at the “Back to the Beginning” farewell concert felt surprisingly normal.
“I wasn’t thinking when we were doing the show that this was the last time I’m going to be doing ‘Mama, I’m Coming Home’ with the boss or this is the last time I’m going to play ‘Crazy Train’ with him or anything like that,” Zakk said. “I was just going, ‘Let’s do this and let’s have a good time, like always.”
Engines of Demolition picks up where 2021’s Doom Crew Inc. left off, blending the band’s signature heavy riffs with introspective moments. Preorders through January 13 include three already released singles — “Broken and Blind,” “Lord Humungus,” and “The Gallows” — plus two unreleased tracks.
BLACK LABEL SOCIETY will hit the road on a North American tour in support of the album, with Wylde’s BLACK SABBATH tribute band, ZAKK SABBATH, opening select dates — a fitting pairing for a record that honors one of heavy metal’s most iconic figures.
