If my dear child of the night judge the book by its cover the surprise with Black Paisly “Human Nature” will be huge. Even more if considered the name of the band and the album tittle. What at first look might seem like a Death Thrash Metal album it’s in reality a great and delicious Hard Rock with classic and 1980’s nuances. So, if that’s is the impression this isn’t an album for extreme metallers. well, only for those listen to this kind of album alone in the dark hidden from friends and all. Opening track “Set Me On Fire” explains that much better as iy goes from a standard 1980’s Hard Rock to change into some nuances of the 1970s as Bad Company as Aerosmith. I invite my dear child of the night to pay close attention to the guitars whose overtones and the way of playing are realluy out of the box. “Human Nature” bounces thoe influences around tracks and inside them. On the contrary of many may think about this kind of band, “Human Nature” is a pretty varied album with many moods and moments. Black Paisly‘s musicians prove to be very capable of achieving this goal.
On the other side of the coin, tracks as “Mojo” offer the fan a delicious track with the mood as bands as Doobie Brothers’s “Listen to the Music” and others with that kind of feeling. By the way, a great track if dear child of the child is in fond of something out of the box. hard to say but humankind doesn’t live only of Metal music. “Silent Asylum,” for instance, has some touches of Scorpions in the intro guitars and in the guitar riffing. Chorus, though, reminds some Whitesnake. Choruses are the strong suit of “Human Nature” as my dear child of the night will notice listening to the album. Some are gluey, others are just well thought, but all of them are singalong. Well, as a matter of fact, this is the strong suit of all bands that play this kind of music. Or am I so severe?
Moods change around the album. “Don’t Call Me a Liar” has some Kiss in it and vocalist Stefan Blomqvist here shows that his voice is very adaptable. Sometimes if i close my eyes I think of the great Demon. His voice in some songs make this connection. On second thought, I recognize some Demon traits in the album.
