On September 20th, Brian “Head” Welch and his bandmates in the side project, LOVE AND DEATH, paid a visit to a high school in Mesa, Arizona, for an event called Scream 4 Me.
The program, which also featured Alice Cooper during a Q&A session, was focused on helping young people take care of their mental health, but it also included a segment when Welch and his band took the stage and played through a handful of classic Korn cuts — in a high-school auditorium.
During the event, Welch and his bandmates took to the stage with the help of some high-school students to play a pair of classic KORN tracks, “Blind” and “Got the Life.”
Welch, who left KORN in 2005 to focus on his relationship with God, returned to the band in 2013. He has been open about his struggles with addiction and suicidal thoughts in the past, and used his platform at the event to encourage kids to seek help if they are struggling with similar issues.
