Brothers of Metal with “Prophecy of Ragnarök” broke the ice and brought the tradition back to life. First track “Death of the God of Light” is the best of the album. Though, I guess I’m not fair to say it because there are other fantastic tracks in this album. Brothers of Metal aren’t a common band in any sense. There are eight of them in the band: three vocalists (two males and one female), three guitarists, a bassist and a drummer. Wow! That makes their music a bit unusual. To their epic Power Metal they add generous dashes of folk. The outcome is delicious. “Prophecy of Ragnaroek” is an album made with heart and soul with lots of anthemic songs as “Defenders of Valhala” with its epic and grand choruses and the aforementioned folk elements. It’s an album that you get in love on the first hear. I did.
Brothers of Metal are also a band with some humor. They identify their vocalists as Ylva Eriksson – Voice of the Valkyries, Joakim Lindbäck Eriksson – Battle Cries, Mats Nilsson – Tongue of the Gods. Sense of humor in a band is as desired as the resource in their instruments. All fourteen tracks of “Prophecy of Ragnaroek” have their extra of passion. Brothers of Metal deal a lot with strong choruses and battle cries. To be fair enough, they are mostly a Heavy Metal band, as I understand it. Power Metal is present in a few tracks. But, who am I to disagree with the band?
“Siblings of Metal” is a track that bounces through both Heavy and Power Metal with some symphonic elements. Pretty strong tune. Now, to be fair enough, the general outcome in “Prophecy of Ragnarök” is great. Brothers of Metal are a band that inspires me to go on believing that the best of Heavy Metal is coming. I do believe that new bands are the hope of Metal. While new bands appears, Heavy Metal will never die. Brothers of Metal prove me that. As they say “We Believe in Metal.” One more to nominate as “Best of the Year.”

I’m just a lucky guy who has chosen metal to live with for a long time. Metal changed my life for good. It made me more confident and stronger. Metalheads are naturally far away from the mass mediocrity and don’t accept impostures from anybody else. Metal is more than music, it’s a life changing oportunity!
