On the past Wednesday (May 3), Carrie Underwood, a country-pop star, appeared on SiriusXM’s “The Howard Stern Show” and performed a cover of Ozzy Osbourne‘s iconic power ballad “Mama, I’m Comin’ Home”. Additionally, she talked about her admiration for GUNS N’ ROSES and her close relationship with Axl Rose, with whom she has shared the stage on multiple occasions.
In July of the previous year, Underwood unveiled her rendition of “Mama, I’m Comin’ Home” for Apple Music Sessions, a live performance initiative started by the technology behemoth.
Recorded at Apple’s Nashville studio, Underwood’s country-infused version of the song was paired with a performance of her 2022 single “Ghost Story” and her popular 2012 track “Blown Away.”
Carrie previously said about her decision to cover ““Mama, I’m Comin’ Home”: “I have always been an Ozzy Osbourne fan and ‘Mama, I’m Coming Home’ is one of my all-time favorite songs. I’ve always thought it felt a lot like a country song, and I’ve wanted to cover it for a long time. This was a really fun opportunity for me to be able to finally make that happen. I hope we’ve done Ozzy proud and I hope he likes it.”
