COREY TAYLOR: Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Is Disrespectful Pile Of Garbage

Corey Taylor 2020

During a recent appearance on “Lazer 103.3,” SLIPKNOT frontman Corey Taylor slammed Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a “pile of garbage” and “a sham.”

When asked about the fact that SLIPKNOT will become eligible for the Rock Hall next year, Corey responded: “I got to tell you — I don’t care about that Hall, I think it’s a pile of garbage. They don’t honor anything except pop music really, and they only really induct real rock bands when they have to cave to pressure.

“They disrespected so many bands over the past by putting others in before the ones that actually deserve it, that I would probably go the way of the SEX PISTOLS. I would be like, ‘Your Hall is a sham, I don’t care if I’m a part of it or not, you have no idea what the spirit of rock ‘n’ roll is actually about, so take this inch and shove it up in your you-know-what.’

“That’s basically where I’m at, and obviously, I’m not getting any brownie points, and I probably will never be nominated, but I don’t really care.”

Even though artists are eligible for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame 25 years after the release of their first album or single, iconic hard rock and metal groups like IRON MAIDENJUDAS PRIEST and MOTÖRHEAD have yet to be recognized by the institution, which inducted GUNS N’ ROSES in that band’s first year of eligibility.
