Philadelphia’s masters of epic doom, CRYPT SERMON, are back with a powerful new release. Following the critical success of their 2024 full-length The Stygian Rose, the band has announced a brand-new EP titled Saturnian Appendices, arriving August 8, 2025.

Drawing from the same recording sessions as The Stygian Rose, the upcoming EP compiles B-sides and previously unreleased material, offering a darker, more immersive journey into the band’s mythic and introspective soundscape. According to the band, the songs on Saturnian Appendices delve deeper into the album’s narrative and thematic undercurrents.

“Conceptually, the new tracks ‘Only Ash and Dust’ and ‘A Fool to a Believe’ illuminate the shadowed thoughts of the narrator from The Stygian Rose, expanding on the tensions that arise as one confronts the conflicts between orthodoxy and occult,” said CRYPT SERMON vocalist Brooks Wilson.

The EP will feature three brand-new tracks alongside a reimagined version of MAYHEM’s black metal classic “De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas,” which was originally issued as part of Decibel Magazine’s exclusive flexi-disc series.

Saturnian Appendices is now available for pre-order. In support of the release, Crypt Sermon will also hit the road this summer and fall for a string of live dates across Europe and North America.
