DANHEIM Releases New Single ‘Yggdrasil II’

With “Yggdrasil II,” Danish composer Reidar Schæfer Olsen, the mind behind DANHEIM, unveils one of Heimferd’s most stirring chapters.

Built upon slow, cyclical percussion and immersive drones, the piece unfolds like a ritual invocation, bridging the album’s elemental extremes between stillness and pulse. Entirely composed, performed, and produced by Olsen, the track captures the essence of DANHEIM’s sound: grounded in ancestral rhythm yet illuminated by spacious ambience.

While Heimferd resists a linear narrative, “Yggdrasil II” acts as its spiritual axis. It reimagines the World Tree not merely as myth, but as continuity: the interconnection of memory, land, and lineage. As its layers evolve, the song becomes a reflection on renewal and return, closing the album on a note of quiet transcendence that echoes across time.

Heimferd is out October 31st via Season of Mist.
