Dave Grohl has responded to a woman’s claims that she is the mother of his newborn daughter, a revelation that surfaced on Wednesday after the rocker acknowledged fathering a child outside of his marriage.
In a social post post shared earlier this week, Grohl confessed: “I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage. I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.”
“We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.”
Soon after the statement went public, an Instagram user under the handle @valeriegreyston posted a now-deleted photo of a baby holding a mother’s hand, accompanied by a lengthy caption alleging the infant was Grohl‘s child.
“My sweet Roxie Junie Grohl, being your mama has already been the most incredible experience of my life,” the post said. “Every day, I fall more in love with you and this new role.”
Valerie further claimed that Grohl had been “by [her] side through the entire pregnancy,” expressing her gratitude for his “love and support.” She also included the hashtag “#My20thbirthdaygift.”
Grohl‘s representative told TMZ that the baby in the post is not the rocker’s daughter, suggesting it’s merely a rumor. Below is a screenshot of the now-deleted post that was shared.
