In a recent interview with Patryk Pigeon of MusikUniverse.mu MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine has revealed who will be behind drum kit when Chris Adler can’t make it due to commitments with LAMB OF GOD.

He says: “Well, I think Chris would tell you he wants to play every show, so that’s what we’re trying to do. If there are shows that he can’t play, he’s already recommended a protégé of his… not protégé, but somebody who he picked, a handpicked selection. It’s a guy named Tony Laureano, who played with NILE and DIMMU BORGIR; he’s one of the top ten extreme-metal drummers. So, yeah, it’ll be equally as exciting. I think Chris brings something a little different than Tony does, but the songs are the songs.” You can listen to entire interview via YouTube below.

MEGADETH‘s fifteenth studio album, Dystopia, was released on January 22, 2016. The album, produced by Dave Mustaine and Chris Rakestraw, is the first by the band since 2004’s The System Has Failed not to feature longtime drummer Shawn Drover and also the first not to feature guitarist Chris Broderick since 2007’s United Abominations. These roles have been filled by LAMB OF GOD drummer Chris Adler and ANGRA guitarist Kiko Loureiro respectively.
