Oh, boy! I missed so much the good old Thrash Metal sweating bullets spilling blood everywhere. It is great to see a band so blood thristy as Dead Heat with “Process of Elimination,” an album that explores all the good old times of 1980s Thrash Metal.
Album warmer “Perpetual Punishment“ comes down through the fan throat as acid. It goes dissolving all the tissues making a huge fuzz slowly killing you. Its Hardcore vocals show all the anger and rage Dead Heat try hard to make sure yoyu understand that there is a tonload on this sad and lonely and pathetic little planet. Just a reminder of how violent this planet is. “Annihilation Nation” brings the slow death into Dead Heat`s portfolio. Want some more violence? Just wait to listen to the violent guitars of “The Order.” Killing is so good…
“Process of Elimination” follows the steps of the great Thrash Metal bands as Slayer, Kreator, Megadeth and Pantera. They do that in a very simple way. One of them is by adding small instrumentals in the middle of the album as “Seventh Gate” and “DH Stomp.” Not only that, the speed patern during the album is very, but very high almost near the speed of light as “Solace Denied.” It is interesting how Dead Heat let their Hardcore influences so clear. Some would say they are a Crossover band, a title it has been a while I do not hear, but I know very well. To listen to Dead Heat is the same as to be under the insane attack of killing bees whose noise and eager to kill give the tone. It is impossible to run away, you just hide your head and start to pray. “Process of Elimination” is vicious, “Process of Elimination” is mean.
Yes, I keep on saying there are some Thrash Metal bands that are more of the same, however, you know a great Thrash Metal band when after listening the album you feel breathless and with your neck so sore. That is exactly how I felt after listening to “Process of Elimination” whose title track “Process of Elimination” feels like a bullet in the head. No, better, it is like a slow and horrible death with all the tempo shifts and the killing sharp guitar riffs. And, just because, “Hatred Bestowed” delivers some acoustic guitars to break the spell. Or your spine… Whatever you please.

I’m just a lucky guy who has chosen metal to live with for a long time. Metal changed my life for good. It made me more confident and stronger. Metalheads are naturally far away from the mass mediocrity and don’t accept impostures from anybody else. Metal is more than music, it’s a life changing oportunity!
