London, UK based Hardcore Punk Rock band DEATH KOOLAID have released the music video for their track “Emmeline” which was directed by Brendan Cleaves, filmed by Laura Bellingham, edited by Greg Hays, and colored by Oliver Gill. The track is from the band’s upcoming album “DEATH KOOLAID Vol. 2″ which will be released this coming July.
“We wanted to do a performance video but hate performance videos. We wanted to stay away from that classic good looking, fancy lighting, slick style performance video we so often see too much of. So we came up with this idea. We wanted it to create motion sickness, headaches, and dizziness. We also did it on a tiny budget, with just the director, the DP and us all crammed into a tiny room. Not only that, we thought to make it more intense for us, we put a time limit on the shoots duration to three hours. Get in, go mental and get out. Pretty much our mentality squeezed into the whole experience and visuals. We use a homemade camera rig for many of shots as nothing out there could achieve the look we wanted. DEATH KOOLAID were dug up from the dark depths of society. Each member was found through their blood thirsty passion to make hard hitting music. The four-piece, female-fronted hardcore punk-rock band, based in London, UK, began their quest to inject noise into the hearts of the masses in 2013.
In March 2014 they released their first EP Death Koolaid Vol. 1. The band began to gig around London immediately – the months that followed were filled with blood, sweat, and beers. With more shows under their belts and an ever-growing fan base, the band’s monster creation of musical torture was spreading; they stun audiences with their aggressive, action-packed live shows that make ears bleed and eyes spin.
In 2016 they were nominated for “Best New Band” at the Pure Rawk awards’ and are now about to release their second album due for release in mid 2016. There is only room for progression with the band, this unstoppable force of visceral mayhem will continue to wake up the dead and put music back into the veins of the living.
