The band’s most recent album, =1, arrived in 2024 via Earmusic/Edel AG. It marked DEEP PURPLE’s first release featuring guitarist Simon McBride, who joined the group in 2022 after Steve Morse stepped away to care for his wife, Janine, during her battle with cancer. The album also continued the band’s long-running collaboration with producer Bob Ezrin, who has worked with them on every record since 2013’s Now What?!
