My dear child of the night knows I never say a word about bands names – it contains lots of irony. Never, never, never. I only do if they call my attention. So, here we’ve got Deep Space Mask which is an interesting and awkward name for a Metal band at the same time. Awkard because as the band does not use space or sci-fi themes in their iconography, except for some mood with “Like a Hurricane,” but it can be told as belonging to any other mood in fact – it is really difficult to understand why the name, but life goes on.
“Burn In Hell” commences with its album tittle track “Burn In Hell“ whose initial guitar riff takes me to far distant places as Pantera and The Runaways. The kind of riff that makes the fan want some more and more and Deep Space Mask deliver it with “Heavy Metal,” a track that homages our beloved music. By the way, I feel the album is a total homage to Metal music in all senses. This is exactly the mood this album delivers the fan: a homage to our beloved music. “The King” offers a frantic rhythm plus all the excitement this kiind of track brings the Metal mmusic fan. It is the kind of exciment that takes you and overwhelms all your senses.
By the cover of Manilla Road “Open the Gates,” it’s possible to realize Deep Space Mask would deliver some kind of Epic and Doom Metal. So they did. This is the truth that tracks as “Voices” tell the fan. With more than eight minute the track takes a deep trip to the deep space. By the way, interestingly, it is also fair to say “Burn In Hell” has two different stories told; the first of an Old School Heavy Metal with lots of punch and aggression and other with a more moody vibe. The first is represented by tracks as the tittle track “Burn In Hell,” the fun “Teenage Dream,” for instance. The second would be with tracks “Like a Hurricane” and “Voices.”
This is an album with that strong riffing that makes the fan headbang all the time while listening to it. It was a fun album to listen I have to tell you. Very few albums gave me this kind of feeling.
Deep Space Mask “Burn In Hell” was released on April 16th.

I’m just a lucky guy who has chosen metal to live with for a long time. Metal changed my life for good. It made me more confident and stronger. Metalheads are naturally far away from the mass mediocrity and don’t accept impostures from anybody else. Metal is more than music, it’s a life changing oportunity!
