DEF LEPPARD guitarist Vivian Campbell shares a health update after missing the band’s last two concerts due to his ongoing battle with cancer.
Vivian released the following statement via social media: “Thank you for all the recent messages and support. As you all may know, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma several years ago. I recently had a bone marrow transplant as part of my treatment plan, and it’s safe to say that thus far it’s been a very successful transplant! I just have to keep my head down and my spirits up for the next 100 days of primary recovery.”
Campbell, renowned for his work with DIO and WHITESNAKE before joining DEF LEPPARD in 1992, revealed his Hodgkin’s lymphoma diagnosis in June 2013.
Vivian underwent three rounds of chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant, but his Hodgkin’s lymphoma eventually returned.
Six years ago, Campbell also underwent spine surgery.
DEF LEPPARD released their latest album, Diamond Star Halos, in May 2022 through UMe.
