DEFTONES have been forced to pull out of their scheduled performance at this year’s Glastonbury Festival, citing “an illness in the band” as the cause.
The California alt-metal veterans were slated to perform on Friday, June 28, at Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset, England. However, just hours before the show, the band issued a statement via Instagram Stories explaining their absence.
“In an unfortunate development, an illness in the band is going to prevent us from playing Glastonbury tonight,” the group wrote. “We’re devastated to be missing out on something we’ve been looking to for months, but sometimes circumstances out of our control interfere with things we want to do the most.”
The statement continued: “We really hope to return to Glastonbury soon, and as it currently stands, we plan on seeing you tomorrow at Crystal Palace.”
Despite the setback, DEFTONES are still expected to headline Crystal Palace Park in London on Saturday, June 29, as scheduled—provided no further complications arise.
Following their U.K. shows, DEFTONES will gear up for the second leg of their 2025 North American tour, which kicks off August 22 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia. The run includes stops at major arenas across the U.S. and Canada, such as Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland on September 10 and Denver’s Ball Arena on September 15, before wrapping up at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri on September 17.
Joining DEFTONES on select dates are PHANTOGRAM and IDLES, with THE BARBARIANS OF CALIFORNIA opening all shows.
