With this year’s Download Festival being cancelled due to coronavirus outbreak, festival organizers have now announce Download TV, a virtual festival that’ll take place over the same weekend in June the original festival was scheduled for.
Download festival issued the following statement: “Downloaders, we’ve got some awesome news for you.
“Now, of course we didn’t want to miss out on the biggest weekend in rock. That’s why we’re bringing a VIRTUAL FESTIVAL direct to your living rooms, for one weekend only!
“That’s right: Download Festival TV will take place via our YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram channels, on 12th-14th June.
So pitch your tent, erect your flags, put up your horns and get ready to mosh (at a socially responsible distance, of course)!
“We’ll have three daily shows with a mix of music, special interviews, unseen performances, exclusive footage, interactive content and loads more. The shows will be broadcast across the Friday, Saturday and Sunday – recreating the best weekend of the summer in the safety and comfort of your own home!
“The full line up is still to be announced, but we’ll be showcasing some of the incredible acts that were due to play Download 2020.”
