We, metalheads that eagerly follow Metal bands, are aware of the avalanche of Symphonic Metal bands with female voices and a combination of Old School Heavy Metal with Extreme Metal features and some classical music features, more evidently operatic combinations. As I always say here it is impossible to get to know all of them. As a matter of fact, metalheads like me that read a lot about Metal music know most of those bands by hearsay. Not the best way of keeping informed, but it happens a lot. Of course, with this immense quantity of bands, the quality varies a lot. As it would be expected, the hundreds of Nightwish’s copycats are all over the place. Some of them are good, some of them are not.
I know that it is very hard to develop a musical signature among the thousands of bands of the same style. It is true that it can be grown in time with very hard work, but some bands just cannot. I admit I thought with Eleine I would listen to one more Nightwish’s copycats, but, for the band’s and mine sake, I was flat wrong. Eleine do have a musical signature.
That said, here we got my first time with Eleine and their upcoming EP “We Stand United” which features the self-tittled brand new track “We Stand United,” two live versions of the Masters of Rock 2024, and a symphonic version of “Promise of Apocalypse.” Well, I have to say I liked what I saw here. The band is much heavier than the average Symphonic Metal band with crunching guitars and blazing drummings. Album warmer “We Stand United” is addicting, if you know what I am saying. The kind of track you keep yourself humming the chorus and blabbing the guitar riff – tell me who’s never. The slow galloping mesmerizing guitars give that crunchy feeling we all love. The low tune of them helps a lot as well the bass giving all the heavyness any Metal music song needs. Both live options “Never Forget“ and “We Are Legion“ work pretty darn fine alive with the aforementioned combination of guitars and drumming plus Madeleine Liljestam’s vocals, which is, of course, the invitation card of the band. Then, “Promise Of Apocalypse” received a cinematic wrapping that cools down the EP a lot.
EPs are fun to review, and, I guess, much more to listen. So, have fun!

I’m just a lucky guy who has chosen metal to live with for a long time. Metal changed my life for good. It made me more confident and stronger. Metalheads are naturally far away from the mass mediocrity and don’t accept impostures from anybody else. Metal is more than music, it’s a life changing oportunity!
