Eloy Casagrande, the newly announced member of SLIPKNOT, has issued his first statement since joining the band.
The former drummer of SEPULTURA shared a photo on his social media today donning his SLIPKNOT mask and attire, along with a message: “It’s an exciting moment. Unthinkable until then. There is nothing to lose, there is nothing to win. There is just living. We’re here as one.
“Thank you SLIPKNOT for trusting me. Thanks all the maggots and fans around the world.
“See you on the road. Here comes more pain.”
Casagrande joined SLIPKNOT in February, stepping into the role previously held by Jay Weinberg, who was unexpectedly dismissed in November 2023. His abrupt departure from SEPULTURA in February, just before the band’s 40th anniversary farewell tour rehearsals, hinted at his transition to SLIPKNOT.
Fans pieced together the timeline, deducing Casagrande‘s new role before his official debut with SLIPKNOT. However, SLIPKNOT‘s new keyboardist remains unidentified following Craig Jones’ departure.
Before their appearance at Sick New World, SLIPKNOT performed an intimate show on Thursday night, April 25, at Pappy + Harriet’s in Pioneertown, California.
For both the Pappy + Harriet’s and Sick New World shows, SLIPKNOT embraced a vintage aesthetic, reviving the iconic 1999 red jumpsuits and incorporating elements of their early masks into their contemporary designs. This nod to the past aligns with SLIPKNOT‘s celebration of their 25th anniversary this year.
