ASKING ALEXANDRIA frontman Danny Worsnop is facing fresh backlash—not just for his controversial Warped Tour performance on June 15th, but for what fans are calling “suspiciously sanitized” social media activity in its aftermath.
While the band’s official Instagram post from the Warped Tour anniversary show has been flooded with negative comments, Worsnop’s personal page paints a very different picture. On his own Instagram, only two slightly critical comments are visible amid a sea of neutral or supportive ones. Given the level of criticism circulating online—especially on Reddit and the band’s fan forums—fans are questioning whether the vocalist is manually deleting or filtering out negative feedback.
Some users have noticed even more unusual behavior. On one of Worsnop’s recent posts, he replied directly to a compliment, but Instagram indicates six total replies—yet only his is visible. This has led fans to speculate that other replies may have been hidden or removed.
Fueling the fire further is the fact that Worsnop doesn’t appear to follow ASKING ALEXANDRIA or any of his bandmates on Instagram, raising eyebrows about the current state of the group’s internal dynamics. While this could be unrelated, the timing has not gone unnoticed by fans already on edge after the band’s underwhelming Warped set.
During the performance, Worsnop appeared disengaged—clad in a hoodie, gloves, and dark clothing that obscured his face, his stage presence was widely criticized as apathetic. Though his vocals were confirmed to be live, fans pointed out inconsistencies: muffled screams, off-pitch clean vocals, and awkward transitions. Audience-shot footage revealed volume fluctuations and a general lack of energy that many described as disappointing, especially for a band with ASKING ALEXANDRIA’s legacy.
While some blamed poor sound mixing—a common problem on festival stages—others speculated Worsnop simply didn’t want to be there. A brief apology from bassist Sam Bettley via Instagram Stories has done little to calm the storm.
Instagram does offer users the option to filter comments by keywords or hide replies, so it’s not entirely clear whether Worsnop is manually deleting feedback or simply using those tools to avoid a digital pile-on. Still, fans on Reddit remain convinced that some form of damage control is underway.
With another Warped Tour date looming in July, the pressure is mounting. Whether Danny Worsnop chooses to address the criticism directly—or lets the performance speak for itself—remains to be seen. Either way, fans will be watching closely.
