FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH frontman Ivan Moody fractured his rib while performing with his bandmates on Thursday, September 26, at the Louder Than Life festival held at the Highland Festival Grounds, Kentucky Expo Center in Louisville, Kentucky.

The singer sustained the injury during the eleventh song of their set, “IOU”, on the festival’s first day. The weather had turned rainy towards the end of the day, and video footage shows Moody losing his footing as he moved across the stage. Despite the fall, he quickly got back up and finished the final song of their regular set.

Moody later shared an update on his condition via Instagram Stories, revealing that he had a bruise extending from his armpit down to the side of his knee. He also mentioned that his hand felt as if it were shattered.

After a visit to a local hospital, Moody revealed that the final diagnosis was a fractured rib.

He added: “You’ve gotta be f**king kidding me. It’s always something, man. Well, I will say this much: it was worth it. Louder Than Life. For real real.”

The organizers of the Louder Than Life festival in Louisville, Kentucky, were forced to cancel all performances for Friday, September 27, due to severe weather caused by the remnants of Hurricane Helene.

Bands that were set to perform on Friday during the four-day event included SLAYERTill LindemannANTHRAXEVANESCENCE, and IN THIS MOMENT.
