FOO FIGHTERS End New York City Concert Early Due To ‘Dangerous Weather’

Foo Fighters Live 2024

FOO FIGHTERS had to end their concert early at Citi Field in Queens, New York on Wednesday night (July 17) because of severe weather in the area.

Band’s frontman Dave Grohl warned the crowd, saying: “I just got word from the side of the stage, there’s a storm coming in. Hold on, hold on! There’s some lightning and s**t like that. We’re gonna play as much as we can until someone says it’s not safe for you, OK? So just so you know, we’re up here doing our thing for you, until it’s not safe for you. For the time being, we’re gonna sing this s**t right now.”

As the storms intensified, Grohl announced they would perform one more song and then try to wait out the storm.

“If we can come back, you f**king know we will, right?” he said. “So let’s do this s**t before it gets weird.”

Unfortunately, the situation escalated quicker than expected, and the FOO FIGHTERS managed only 30 seconds of “Everlong” before receiving the order to leave the stage.

Grohl later wrote on social media: “We are so disappointed that we were unable to play our full set for tonight’s fantastic crowd at Citi Field. But the safety of our fans, the crew and everyone working in the stadium comes first, so when it was determined that there was no safe way to continue the show in this dangerous weather, we had no choice but to call it a night.”

FOO FIGHTERS added: “We’re grateful for every second we were able to play for you and looking forward to seeing you again — maybe as soon as Friday!”
