FOO FIGHTERS have unexpectedly released a high-energy cover of “I Don’t Wanna Hear It,” originally by legendary hardcore punk band MINOR THREAT. This surprise drop comes amid the band’s ongoing 30th anniversary celebrations, during which they have been actively sharing throwback videos and photos from their extensive career.

Tagged with #FF30, the band uploaded the cover to their official YouTube channel, pairing it with a nostalgic video montage featuring photos from throughout their journey — notably excluding the era with drummer Josh Freese. The video’s caption revealed an intriguing detail: “Instrumentals recorded in 1995. Vocals recorded in 2025.”

Clocking in at just one minute and 20 seconds, the cover sees frontman Dave Grohl channeling his punk rock roots with fiery vocals delivering lines like, “Shut your f—ing mouth / I don’t care what you say / You keep talking / You’re talking every day / First you’re telling stories / Then you’re telling lies / When the f— are you gonna realise.”

Listeners have been quick to praise the tribute in the comments section. One fan expressed gratitude, writing, “Thank you FOO FIGHTERS for doing this. MINOR THREAT needs more love. These kids need to make sure MINOR THREAT, MISFITS, CIRCLE JERKS, etc. do not die.” Another added a humorous note, saying, “Honestly, sometimes it takes me 30 years to finish up a one-and-a-half-minute project, too.”

Looking ahead, Foo Fighters have also announced a series of Asian tour dates for later this year, including:

  • October 2 – Jakarta, Indonesia – Carnaval Ancol
  • October 4 – Singapore – Singapore Grand Prix (Marina Bay)
  • October 7 – Tokyo, Japan – Saitama Super Arena
  • October 10 – Osaka, Japan – Glion Arena Kobe
