Former MEGADETH guitarist Chris Broderick joined DEATH ANGEL on stage last night (Friday, December 26) at the Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, California to perform the DEATH ANGEL song “Empty”. You can now watch fan-filmed video footage of his appearance below.
As previously reported, Broderick and former MEGADETH drummer Shawn Drover have recruited ex-SCAR THE MARTYR singer Henry Derek Bonner to front their as-yet-unnamed new band. The group has demoed six songs so far, with Drover describing the material as “100 percent heavy metal. Some of the songs are very aggressive and fast, others are more ‘accessible’ to the average heavy metal listener.” He added: “Chris, Henry and myself are all fans of all kinds of heavy music, which is great, as we are not putting any musical parameters on what we are creating here, which is very liberating, I must say.”
DEATH ANGEL‘s seventh album, “The Dream Calls For Blood”, sold 5,400 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 72 on The Billboard 200 chart.
Released on October 11, 2013 in Europe (except for the U.K. where it arrived three days later) and October 15, 2013 in North America via Nuclear Blast Records, “The Dream Calls For Blood” was recorded at Audiohammer Studios in Sanford, Florida with producer Jason Suecof (TRIVIUM, AUGUST BURNS RED, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, ALL THAT REMAINS, WHITECHAPEL, DEVILDRIVER), and once again features cover art by Brent Elliot White (JOB FOR A COWBOY, CARNIFEX, WHITECHAPEL).
