On October 27, 2022 Elon Musk made a decisive move and officially purchased Twitter for an astounding $44 billion. Since then, the company has been in disarray; within two months of taking ownership, Musk had laid off 75% of his staff – even engineering employees days prior to Christmas! Moreover, advertiser troubles have emerged along with strange yet controversial restrictions imposed by Musk himself like prohibiting promotion of other social media platforms on the site.
On December 18th, Musk took to Twitter and submitted a poll inquiring whether he should resign as CEO; the result of which showed that 58% of users agreed. Following this revelation, on December 20th he announced his plan to step down from the post once an apposite replacement is found; however, he’ll still remain at helm in order to direct Twitter’s software and server teams.
Fred Durst of LIMP BIZKIT has risen to the occasion by offering his and the band’s assistance in any way they can at Twitter. In a tweet directed towards Musk, he said “Good morning, sir. Myself and LIMP BIZKIT are available for whatever help you may want or need on Twitter. Wishing you Happy Holidays!” With all that is happening with Twitter currently, we’re intrigued by what Fred will do when given this opportunity!
