GENE SIMMONS Speaks Out After Malibu Car Crash: ‘I Had A Slight Fender Bender’

Gene Simmons 2024 Interview

KISS co-founder Gene Simmons has broken his silence following a car accident earlier this week in Malibu, reassuring fans that he’s doing just fine.

In a post shared to his official X account, the 76-year-old rocker wrote: “Thanks, everybody, for the kind wishes. I’m completely fine. I had a slight fender bender. It happens. Especially to those of us who are horrible drivers. And that’s me. All is well.”

The statement comes days after Simmons was reportedly hospitalized on Tuesday, October 7, following a crash on the Pacific Coast Highway. According to NBC4 Los Angeles, Simmons told deputies he may have fainted or passed out while driving, causing his SUV to veer across several lanes before striking a parked car.

The incident occurred just before 1 p.m. in the 25000 block of PCH. A spokesperson for the Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station confirmed to People that a vehicle had collided with a parked car and that the driver was transported to the hospital by LA County Fire for further evaluation. While the spokesperson did not name Simmons directly, NBC4 identified him as the driver involved.

Simmons’ wife, Shannon Tweed, 68, told NBC4 that he is now recovering at home and mentioned that doctors had recently adjusted his medication, which may have contributed to the episode.

The accident comes just ahead of KISS’s highly anticipated reunion event in Las Vegas next month. The “KISS Army Storms Vegas” celebration, running November 14–16, will mark the band’s 50th anniversary and feature an “unmasked” lineup including Simmons, Paul Stanley, Tommy Thayer, and special guests.

The three-day fan experience will include exclusive Q&A sessions, a panel with longtime manager Doc McGhee, a performance by former KISS guitarist Bruce Kulick, tribute band sets, and interactive activities.
