GRETA VAN FLEET Manager Says Their Singer Could Front LED ZEPPELIN: ‘He Would Nail It’

Led Zeppelin Greta Van Fleet

In an interview with Alternative Nation, GRETA VAN FLEET manager Michael Barbee discussed the idea of the band’s singer Josh Kiszka fronting a hypothetical LED ZEPPELIN reunion.

He said: “Obviously, I think the boys have the utmost respect for LED ZEPPELIN. My guess would be no, he [Josh] wouldn’t want to do it, just because he would nail it. He’s gonna do a great job, and that’s not gonna help him.

“I’d like to see the opposite. I’d like to see Jimmy Page come and do a show with them. Then it doesn’t have to be a Zeppelin thing.

“I don’t know what point it would prove for Josh to be a guest singer for Zeppelin because then it’s just feeding into the frenzy.”

In a recent interview with NMEGRETA VAN FLEET guitarist Jake Kiszka shared an update on the band’s second album, which will mark the follow-up to the group’s 2018 studio debut Anthem of the Peaceful Army.

He said: “There’s a little evolution, I suppose, with everything. We’re working on something quite different, I suppose.

“It’s interesting, ’cause we never know exactly what an album’s gonna look like; it can only be so premeditated. But as it sort of unfolds now, it’s an example of where we are musically right now. So it’s definitely much different than ‘Anthem of the Peaceful Army’ would have been.”

Bassist Sam Kiszka: “I think it’s really the next step in the evolution of what we want to do.”

Continued Jake: “Yeah, ’cause now I suppose we have a little bit more leniency on the more outlandish stuff that we wanna do.”

Said Sam: “I think as far as the entire intent goes, I think [it’s] just incorporating more sounds, more tones, more styles of music, perhaps, and kind of taking a step in the cinematic direction.”

Jake went on to say: “I suppose another question on this album as well was, like, ‘What hasn’t been done and how many rules can we break?’ ‘Cause that’s when you really start creating something unique.”

Anthem of the Peaceful Army was released on October 19, 2018, and follows the band’s two EP releases, Black Smoke Rising and From the Fires. The first single, “When the Curtain Falls,” was released in July 2018. The album was the top selling album in its debut week in the US, selling 80,000 copies. Factoring in album equivalent units, it debuted at number three on the Billboard 200. A second single, “You’re the One” was released around the time of the album’s release.
