Funeral Doom Metal bands are really scarce here and I always get stranged by their sonancy. One of my greates efforts is not to consider all of them alike, simply because they are not. That’s what Hating Life with “Revenge from Beyond” are proving me today.
Two interesting things about Hating Life with “Revenge from Beyond.” First, As one of Metal music’s idiosyncrasies, as a tribute, many bands like to take their names from other bands albums or songs, so, “Hating Life” stands for one of Grave earliest and gnarliest demo days classics, later on rerecorded on their immortal debut “Into The Grave,” later on once again used as the title of their fourth full-length, back in 1996. Second, Ataraxy’s guitarist Santiago Cavero does all the instrumental parts of the album as the guitars, the bass, the drums, and the piano (?). Ah, the intro…
The music in here follows no flamboyant schemes, no shreddings, no show offs. It is pure and simple with each note played with lots of heart. Very slow guitar riffing with very few notes followed by a cadaveric voice that turns all the fan’s hair gray. Every now and then all hell breaks loose with fantastic fast drumming as with title track “Revenge from Beyond.” Here Hating Life assume their Brutal Death Metal verve. I guess it is grand finale “The Sense Of Fear” that represents all the band’s musical philosophy and musical siganture with the aforementioned slow, but very slow, guitar riffing and more than cadaveric vocals. This is Hating Life.
“Revenge from Beyond” is the album for Brutal Death Metal and Funeral Doom Metal fans. Its music shows that heart is more necessary than technique to play Metal music. Nothing less.
Hating Life “Revenge from Beyond” was released on February 27th via Pulverised Records.

I’m just a lucky guy who has chosen metal to live with for a long time. Metal changed my life for good. It made me more confident and stronger. Metalheads are naturally far away from the mass mediocrity and don’t accept impostures from anybody else. Metal is more than music, it’s a life changing oportunity!
