Horror-themed death metal force HEADS FOR THE DEAD is returning this fall with a brand-new nightmare. The band—led by Jonny Pettersson (WOMBBATH) and Ralf Hauber (REVEL IN FLESH, ROTPIT)—will release their fourth studio album, Never Ending Night of Terror, on October 10 via Pulverised Records.
Kicking off the campaign, the group has shared the first single, “To The Very Last”, a menacing track loaded with slow-burning riffs, eerie keyboards, and the kind of suffocating atmosphere that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled into the final scene of a slasher flick.
“This is easily our most extreme album,” says Hauber. “In every way—intensity, atmosphere, fear. It’s horror metal of death.”
Joining Pettersson and Hauber on this outing are drummer Evan Daniele (SENTIENT HORROR, DEAD AND DRIPPING) and returning guitarist Matt Moliti (SENTIENT HORROR).
A self-proclaimed horror move freak himself, Italian artist Solo Macello (PENTAGRAM, ZAKK SABBATH, BAND OF SPICE etc.) is for the first time responsible for the artwork, based on both Jonny and Ralf vision. The mask of the main slasher figure on the cover is inspired by a horror mask hanging in Jonny’s living room and can be, on purpose, seen as SODOM own mascot evil-twin.
Never Ending Night of Terror arrives October 10. In the meantime, sink your teeth into “To The Very Last” and prepare for the blood-soaked ride ahead.
