First thing that calls the attention with “Becoming the Cure” is the crunchy and catchy guitar riff of first blood, and tittle track, “Becoming the Cure“ showing a band that goes far from their initial propose of modern Metal. Yeah, the track is so cool to be called this way. It helps a lot the anthemic feeling of vocals giving the track that “don’t miss it” feeling. The overtones of the guitars do remind a lot the ones of the golden time of that band we do not say the name.
Well, you all know l am not a fan of modern Metal, nor its likes, but, every now and then, as a forgiven person I am, I do like some albums that we receive. Helix Noire “Becoming the Cure” is one of them. I was immeadiately got by the crunchy guitar riffs the album delivers. Great guitars is what we all metalheads expect from a Metal album, isn’t it?
The album goes on with “King Of The Unborn” whose guitars take the same crunchy road its previous took. I miss, though, guitar leads. The lack of guitar leads is one of the things I do not appreciate about modern Metal, after all, we are talking about Metal music, aren’t we? There must be guitar solos. As their musical signature, “The Rotten“ delivers somme nice guitars was well with some squeaks and breaks that make it a very interesting track. The way vocals are done helps a lot as well as it did with first blood, and tittle track, “Becoming the Cure.” “Schizophrenia Of The Righteous“ changes a little the pace with more slow and calm guitars a little bit inspired on 1980s Rock. Just another facete of a good band that promises a lot.
Even though modern Metal is not my thing, I had a lot of fun with “Becoming the Cure.” Tolerance is the key… A knack for good music helps a lot too.

I’m just a lucky guy who has chosen metal to live with for a long time. Metal changed my life for good. It made me more confident and stronger. Metalheads are naturally far away from the mass mediocrity and don’t accept impostures from anybody else. Metal is more than music, it’s a life changing oportunity!
