I couldn’t think of a better name for a band. So true. The other is always the one to blame, never ourselves. Hell is really other people also considering living with other people or having some kind of relationship. Some say the worst jobs ever are the ones which deal with people. From the dawn of humankind we’ve been fightining each other. Killing each other. Sad but true. Of course, as my usual thought, Metal music is the perfect soundtrack to tell this tale and nothing better than a Black Metal band called Hell Is Other People to do so. Here is their soundtrack called “Moirae”. By the way, as the band explains Moirae is an Ancient Greek term referring to three figures that are personifications of destiny. The role of the Moirae is to ensure that everyone lives out their destiny as assigned to them by the laws of the universe. We explore this necessary human process of birth, proliferation and death through these songs, couched in metaphor and esoteric meaning so the listener can interpret them as they see fit.
There is nothing better than Atmospheric Black Metal to express some very hard human feelings. Anger, anguish, fear, despair are well-represented by the sonic waves of “Moirae,” an album that is the vivid expression of everything we humans feel. It’s our darkest expression. One of the truest. One of the crudest. The thirteen minutes of “Atropos” is a lesson of moods and dark atmosphere with a sensible musicianship – sensible meaning musicians were able to capture all the emotions and turned them into music. It’s really impressive how Hell Is Other People could, in a blink of an eye, turn slow passages into faster than the speed of light passages without loosing the melodic verve – by melodic my dear child of the night may understand a wicked one. A great highlight to drummer James Ditty whose contribution made the album so fantastic as it is. His use of crash cymbals is really something amazing making them a part of the song, not only to highlight the moods. It’s also notable the use of clean guitars as in “Degrade” where they contribute a lot to the band’s musicality. Pay close attention on how the guitars and the drums dialogue. Creating moods and atmosphere is the deal of Hell Is Other People.
As an album it’s possible to say “Moirae” has some kind of monolithic verve. It’s also impressive how Hell Is Other People made it sound so progressive without having the label of progressive. It’s the kind of album that haunts you and impresses you at the same time.
Hell Is Other People “Moirae” will be released on October 11th via Transcending Obscurity Records.

I’m just a lucky guy who has chosen metal to live with for a long time. Metal changed my life for good. It made me more confident and stronger. Metalheads are naturally far away from the mass mediocrity and don’t accept impostures from anybody else. Metal is more than music, it’s a life changing oportunity!
