Hotel Chef Reportedly Fired After Posing For Photo With AXL ROSE

Axl Rose Live With Guns N Roses

A hotel chef in Lima, Peru, reportedly lost his job after taking a photo with GUNS N’ ROSES frontman Axl Rose during the band’s recent visit to the city.

Richard Perez Cuzcano, who had been working at the Marriott Lima for over ten years, was responsible for preparing meals for Rose and his team ahead of the band’s November 5 show at Estadio Nacional. According to local news outlet Bajo Piura Noticias, Cuzcano had idolized Rose since childhood and eventually asked for a photo with the rock legend.

However, Marriott reportedly enforces strict policies prohibiting employees from taking pictures with guests or interacting with them beyond their professional duties. By requesting the photo, Cuzcano allegedly violated that rule and was dismissed from his position.

Despite losing his job, the chef made it clear he had no regrets. In a social media post translated via Google Translate, he wrote: “I was the chef at the restaurant and I took a picture with Axl Rose himself after cooking for him. Yesterday, I was fired for breaking that rule. Was it worth it? It was and it will be until my dying day.”

The Instagram post featuring the photo of Cuzcano with Rose now carries a slightly different caption, including lyrics from the iconic song “November Rain”: “How do I explain to my child that this will happen in a few years, that a day will come that he will become a cook and a night will cook like never before for W. Axl Rose. And that he will stretch forth his hand. What if it was worth it???? It was worth it, it is worth it and it will continue to be worth it until the last day.”

It remains unclear whether Cuzcano edited the caption himself or if he has since returned to his position at the Marriott.
