IN FLAMES Announces Departure Of Drummer TANNER WAYNE

In Flames 2022

Swedish metal titans IN FLAMES have officially parted ways with drummer Tanner Wayne. The band made the announcement yesterday via social media, expressing both gratitude and appreciation for Wayne’s contributions over the past several years.

Wayne, formerly known for his work with UNDERMINDED, SCARY KIDS SCARING KIDS, and CHIODOS, joined IN FLAMES in the summer of 2018. He stepped in following the departure of Joe Rickard, who performed on the band’s 2016 album, Battles. Wayne made his live debut with IN FLAMES on July 4, 2018 in Brno, Czech Republic, and has since been a key part of the band’s rhythm section.

In their statement, IN FLAMES wrote: “It is with profound gratitude and appreciation that we announce our creative decision to part ways with Tanner Wayne. His dedication and musicianship over the past several years has left, and will continue to leave, a lasting mark on this band. We wish him nothing but the best. We appreciate your support and understanding at this time and hope to see you all on tour this summer.”

As of now, no replacement drummer has been announced, and fans will have to wait to see who will step behind the kit for IN FLAMES. The band is currently touring in support of their latest album, Foregone, released in February 2023 via Nuclear Blast. The album has been praised for blending the band’s aggressive, metallic roots with their evolved melodic sensibilities.

Fans can expect to hear more updates from IN FLAMES as they continue to forge ahead, bringing their distinctive blend of metal to audiences around the globe.
