A powerhouse of cool riffs. That’s my first feeling about Infestatio with their new EP “Ethe_Real,” and the avalanche of great guitar riff from day one. The second feeling is that the album sounded a lot as a much heavier version of Helix “Rock You.“ Mostly with “Human : Ego.” You know, the spirit, that big arena come along thing. The exorting the fans to come with them and initiate a riot.
Well, “Ethe_Real,” commences with “Spes : Aeternitas“ a nice string quartet – I guess – with a pretty acoustic piece that puts the fa in the mood for a serious break to happen. By the way, “Human : Ego“ is also an instrumental piece with nice acoustic guitars opening for the fourteen minute violin driven piece “Domum : Fatum,” which does the honors to a very nice guitar riff that makes the fan headbang all the way. Interestingly, no riff here is exactly new, but as I always say, it is not if it is new or not, the most important thing is the feeling and Infestatio deliver a lot. In fact, “Domum : Fatum” is so varied that it sounds as if someone was puting parts together to make it a whole. Do you know the beauty of it? The track sounds epic. I liked very muc the band’s ability to make singalong choruses without leaving the power and the required heavyness.
Instrumentally, “Ethe_Real,” is an album that borders the perfection. All the passages and moments Infestatio created here are woundrous showing the band’s prowness. But it is not that prowness just to show off, it is the kind of prowness that makes a difference making the song more relevant. The combination symphonic music features wth Metal music, even though not new, hit th bull’s eye. The contrasts the band made are really something to praise. As I said, a powerhouse of riff plus the tender combination of symphonic music.
Infestatio “Ethe_Real” was released in 2025.

I’m just a lucky guy who has chosen metal to live with for a long time. Metal changed my life for good. It made me more confident and stronger. Metalheads are naturally far away from the mass mediocrity and don’t accept impostures from anybody else. Metal is more than music, it’s a life changing oportunity!
