Jack Osbourne didn’t hold back after Roger Waters, co-founder of PINK FLOYD, made disparaging remarks about his father, Ozzy Osbourne. In a recent interview, Waters claimed he “never did” care about BLACK SABBATH and “couldn’t give a f**k” about Ozzy.
Waters‘ comments were part of a wide-ranging interview with The Independent Ink. “Ozzy Osbourne, who just died, bless him in his whatever state that he was in his whole life…The music, I have no idea. I couldn’t give a f**k,” Waters said. “I don’t care about BLACK SABBATH, I never did. Have no interest in biting the heads of chickens or whatever they do. I couldn’t care less, you know.”
In a swift and fiery response on his Instagram Stories, Jack Osbourne took direct aim at the PINK FLOYD musician. “Hey Roger Waters, f**k you,” he wrote. “How pathetic and out of touch you’ve become. The only way you seem to get attention these days is by vomiting out bulls**t in the press. My father always thought you were a c**t. Thanks for proving him right.”
The friction between the two legendary rock figures isn’t new. In 1970, Waters reportedly gave a scathing review of BLACK SABBATH‘s debut song, “Evil Woman,” saying at the time, “You keep thinking it’s going to start…if you are really perceptive, you realize it isn’t going to start, and that’s all there is.”
Tragically, Ozzy Osbourne passed away on July 22, just weeks after the historic farewell concert in his hometown.
Osbourne died from a heart attack at his Buckinghamshire estate, with coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease listed as contributing factors, according to a death certificate filed in London by his daughter Aimée. A helicopter air ambulance was reportedly dispatched to his home around 10:30 a.m. that day.
