Jack Osbourne has welcomed a new addition to his growing family, naming his newborn daughter in honor of his late father, legendary Ozzy Osbourne.
The son of Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon Osbourne, Jack Osbourne and his wife, Aree Gearhart, announced the birth of their second child together — a baby girl named Ozzy Matilda Osbourne. The couple shared the news in a joint Instagram post with the caption: “Introducing Ozzy Matilda Osbourne.”
Born on March 5, Ozzy Matilda weighed 7 pounds and 4 ounces. Her name serves as a touching tribute to her famous grandfather, who passed away in July 2025 at the age of 76.
The newborn is the second child for Jack and Aree. Their first daughter together, Maple Artemis Osbourne, was born in July 2022. Jack is also a father to three daughters from his previous marriage to Lisa Stelly: Pearl Clementine Osbourne (13), Andy Rose Osbourne (10) and Minnie Theodora Osbourne (7) — bringing his total number of daughters to five.
The birth of Ozzy Matilda comes months after the death of the iconic Ozzy Osbourne, best known as the legendary frontman of BLACK SABBATH and a pioneering figure in heavy metal.
Earlier this month, Jack opened up about the final weeks of his father’s life during an appearance on the Hate To Break It To Ya podcast hosted by Jamie Kennedy. Reflecting on Ozzy’s passing shortly after performing his farewell concert with BLACK SABBATH in July 2025, Jack admitted the family had not expected things to happen so quickly.
Jack said: “Yeah, it was a surprise, for sure. Obviously everyone knew he was sick… But, yeah, we weren’t expecting it to be as quick as it was.”
He went on to share a personal moment from the last time he saw his father in England following the “Back To The Beginning” concert.
Jack continued: “I think he was done. ‘Cause I’d left England to come home after the show. We went to the ‘Back To The Beginning’ gig with the family, and we all hung around England for a few weeks, and had to come back with the kids. And right before I left, I was putting him to bed, and he was, like, brushing his teeth or whatever, and he was looking at himself in the mirror, and he goes, ‘I think I’m gonna cut my hair off.’ I’m, like, ‘Why?’ And he’s, like, ‘I’ve retired. I’m not a rock star anymore.’ And so I think about that, and I’m, like, yeah, he was done. He was okay with his journey.”
During the same conversation, Jack also revealed that the day Ozzy passed away felt unexpectedly normal.
“It was a few days after I got back that he passed, and we were… Even the morning that he passed, it was like, it wasn’t anything dramatic at all,” Jack said. “He was up, he was doing his thing, had some breakfast, and that was it.”
Ozzy died on July 22, 2025 at the age of 76. His death certificate later revealed that he passed away from a heart attack, with coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease listed as contributing conditions.
A private funeral service for the legendary singer was held on July 31, 2025 on the 250-acre grounds of the Buckinghamshire, England estate that Ozzy and his wife, Sharon Osbourne, purchased in 1993.
Only 110 close friends and family members attended the ceremony, including Ozzy’s BLACK SABBATH bandmates as well as several notable figures from the rock and metal world such as Robert Trujillo, Rob Zombie, Zakk Wylde, Marilyn Manson and Corey Taylor.
